Why does the Waqf Board have nearly 9.4 lakh acres of land in various places?
In this week (last week of October 2024), Waqf Board claimed 40 acres of land around the Kanifnath temple in Ahmednagar (Ahilyanagar) in Maharashtra. Waqf Borad also claimed 750 acres of land in outskirts of Hyderabad, Telengana. Waqf Board also claimed 1200 acres of land in Vijayapura district, Karnataka.
The important thing to be noted here is congress is in Govt in Telengana and Karnataka. Powerful congressmen are controlling the state Waqf Baord and Waqf ministry.
Karnataka opposition leader Vijayendra speaking to reporters, hit out at the ruling congress for the proposed land grab. ‘Farmers' ancestral land was all of a sudden claimed as Waqf property, farmers will come on the streets, what should they do? The congress is indulging in appeasing minorities and thereby dividing the country in the name of the religion, they have been doing it for long. They are trying to incite riots in the state under the leadership of Zameer Ahemed Khan (Waqf Minister)’, he said.
Vijeyendra claimed that the Waqf minister himself has accepted that notices were issued to 120 farmers. If the BJP had not taken this issue seriously, the farmers would have come to the streets. After we raised the issue they formed the task force and asked farmers to approach the Deputy Commissioner. The BJP state chief said a team formed by the party under the leadership of former Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karjol has reached Vijayapura district. ‘They will visit all the taluks of the district, meet farmers, and instill confidence in them. When the attempts are on to put farmers in trouble, BJP is with farmers and will provide them all necessary help, including legal assistance. We will strongly stand with them’, said former minister.
Did Nehru created Waqf Board to help powerful Muslim congressmen?
After feeling the heat from 100 farmers, Karnataka CM Sidddaramaiah has said none of them will be evicted, and notices issued to them will be withdrawn. Revenue Minister (Krishna Byre Gowda), M B Patil (Industries and Vijayapura district incharge Minister) and Waqf Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan have jointly said that no farmer from Vijayapura will be evicted from their land’, CM Siddaramaiah said.
Minister M B Patil had now said it was due to an ‘error’ in the gazette notification. He also had said only 11 acres out of the 1,200 acres are Waqf properties, and a task force headed by the Deputy Commissioner will be formed to resolve the issues. Clearly, congress leaders are on damage control mood.
Bengaluru MP Tejasvi Surya took this case to Waqf Amendment Bill JPC (Joint Parliamentary Committee). Union Minister Pralhad Joshi too hit out at the Congress government and Zameer Ahmed Khan, and cited the Anwar Manappadi report which claimed that several Congress leaders ‘are making crores of rupees by using Waqf property as their own’.
Clearly, PM Nehru made Waqf Board for promoting corruption and land grab for influential Mulsim congressmen.
Also other land grab cases are there in Karnataka. Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi admitted that she puts 'whitener' on MUDA documents. ED found that hitener was used on MUDA documents to hide details of the alleged scam. CM Siddaramaiah is the first accused in the case and his wife is the second accused in MUDA scam case. Congress Govt tried its best to block MUDA scam investigation. Congress President Mallikarjun Karge’s son has returned Waqf land which he took illegally.
