Which single historical event in India's post-independence era do you believe most profoundly shaped its commitment to national unity?

Nehru’s fake secularism and Muslim appeasement. Despite the trauma of Partition, the Constituent Assembly refused to treat Muslims as ‘the other’. Nehru declared that India’s greatness would depend on how it treated minorities. Azad reminded the Assembly that Muslims, majority of whom demanded separate homeland called Pakistan but 90% of them stayed back in India and who stayed back after partition did so out of conviction, not compulsion. The Constitution embodied a radical promise: fraternity across faith, equality before law, and dignity for all. There was no opposition party during Nehru era. The result? Karnataka High Court recently says in a judgement that one area of Bengaluru city is ‘mini Pakistan’! This created controversy but exposed the reality that every city and state has ‘mini Pakistan’ deployed which is acting as a ticking time bomb. The Shaheen Bagh, Delhi protests in 2019-20, sudden North-West Delhi February 2020 riots when US President Donald Trump was in city and su...

Why did Nehru choose Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a Saudi national born in Mecca as the first Education Minister of the Independent India?

Image
This is because Maulana Azad never went to school or collages but home schooled on Arabic. He was given title Maulana just as many Islamic religious leaders in your neighbourhood get tile of Maulana after memorising certain religious scriptures. They are present in every part of India and Maulana Azad not anything better than them. Just look at this lady with Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari. She is not an Indian citizen but hiding for decades because she exposed the Islamist jeh@dis of Bangladesh in some of her writings, blogs etc. The extreme torture on Hindus of Bangladesh is going on since pre-partition days 1930s. There is no improvement as government comes and goes. Military dictator made Bangladesh an Islamic country just to maintain his hold and since then almost all their leaders except Sheikh Hasina followed Islamist policies. This lady was banned in Bengal during TMC rule because Islamists are the core voters to Mamata Banerjee. Now there is a change in Bengal as can be seen by th...

Which former Prime Minister's record has PM Modi surpassed to become the second-longest serving PM of India?

Image
PM Modi is now longer serving PM than Nehru but it is not a big news. The big news is PM Modi is dismantling Nehru era blunders like Madarsa education in the name of minority rights in a democratic country. This Madarsa education harmed India a lot. One big section of the society never integrated into Indian mainstream. Madrasa education is Arab culture in Arabic language. In simple terms it is called cultural imperialism. Assam and Uttarakhand took a right step which only BJP can take for national interest Modi government reversed the Nehru era policy of truncated Vande Mataram National Song and legislation passed against insulting National Song and Anthem There were multiple instances in last few decades where the peaceful community refused to sing and stand-up during National Song and Anthem in govt schools, collages, offices and events. They even walked out of Parliament when National Song was played (video available in media). PM Modi needs to rectify many more Nehruvian blunders ...

Why was Nehru criticized for his handling of refugees during the partition, and what alternatives could have been pursued?

Image
Bengal had large number of communists before independence and they supported partition of India on the ground that under a majority Hindu population, Muslims will face discrimination. Actually, reverse thing happened. Muslim minority population continue to rise in India while in Pakistan, Hindu minority population faced inhuman tortures and death. The West Pakistan became Hindu and Sikh free within a year after the partition because the violence was extremely high. Whatever small percentage of Hindu and Sikh population who could not migrate to India, majority of them converted to Islam for safety. Today in Pakistan only 2.17% are Hindus and only 0.01% are Sikhs. One has to remember that important Punjab towns like Lahore and Gujranwala economy was built by the Sikhs. In eastern Pakistan (now Bangladesh), the anti-Hindu atrocities were different. Hindus were not killed or butchered en-mass as happened in Punjab but were insulted to inhuman level. The Nehru-Liaquat pact signed in 1950 to...

Did India lose Kailash Mansarovar TO China because of Nehru?

On the heels of Nehru’s twin blunder in 1950s—abandonment of Tibet and sponsorship of China with nothing to show in return—Nehru deceived the Indian public in his pursuit of international glory through Panchasheel. Nehru dreamt of getting Noble Peace Prize throughout his PM tenure and his name was proposed to Noble Committee 14 times out of his 16 year PM tenure. Panchasheel Principles, which was the principal ‘policy’ of Nehru towards China from the betrayal of Tibet to the expulsion of Dalai Lama in 1959, is generally regarded as a demonstration of good faith by Nehru that was exploited by the Chinese who ‘stabbed him in the back’. This is not quite correct, for Nehru and Krishna Menon because they knew about the Chinese incursions in Ladakh and Aksai Chin but kept it secret for years to keep the illusion of Panchasheel alive. General Thimayya of Indian Army had brought the Chinese activities in Aksai Chin to the notice of Nehru and Krishna Menon several years before that. An English...
