Who is a "Dimagi Naxal"?

Since Modi government came to power in 2014, a new breed of young professionals emerged who are called social media influencers. This is made possible due to easy availability of cheap 4G smart phones which can stream video feed, pan India 4G network and low internet data cost which is one of the lowest in India. They earn handsome money sitting at home from social media companies who pay them for their expert opinion. Millions of followers watch and love them and advertisers pay money to social media companies and influencers get a part of it.

One such social media influencer is Akash Banerjee or ‘Bhakt Banerjee’ who runs a Youtube channel and his primary objective is to mock, criticize and taunt PM Narendra Modi. He speaks fluent north Indian accent Hindi and not the typical ‘rossogolla’ accent Hindi which has high dose of Bengali pronunciation as done by most Bengalis. This means he was most probably born and brought up in north India. But he retains the typical Bengali communist blood and mindset!

But India is fastest growing major economic in the world for last few years and growing faster annual growth rate than Ch!na

Often, he brings fellow leftist, communist and naxalites like Ravish Kumar of ex-NDTV, Dhruv Rathi (another similar Youtuber) and Delhi ex-CM Kejriwal to his cannel for interview and they together mock Modi/BJP/RSS using his channel. His Youtube channel has more than 2 million subscribers (this data may be old) which means he earns handsome money from the channel using satire content. If one sees the comments by subscribers on his channel, one can easily understand that most of his subscribers belong to two categories – Bengali communists and peaceful jeh@dis which also includes Pakistanis and Bangladeshi using fake Indian names.

Narendra Modi may not mind these abuses as he has said – all the abuses he receives, he considers them as love! So, Akash Banerjee continues his ‘Bhakt Banerjee’ app while his friend Dhruv Rathi who migrated to Europe and operating his channel from abroad. Akash Banerjee speaks fluent Hindi and not the typical ‘rossogolla’ accent Hindi spoken by majority of Bengal based people including ex-CM Mamata Banerjee. This is because he was born and brought up North India. He studied at prestigious St. Stephens College in Delhi and became a journalist and radio host and finally a popular political YouTuber now. But despite growing up in North India, he retained the ‘Bengali communist blood’ and he is a perfect example of born ‘dimagi naxal’. A good education, IIT, IIM, Oxford, Cambridge or Harvard academic background does not help a dimagi naxal to become patriotic or nationalistic person.

Despite his videos are highly biased and sometimes anti-national, just like his fellow dimagi naxal Rabish Kumar and Dhruv Rathee, he will be always considered as brave, independent journalist by the leftist, communists and librandµs. India being a vibrant democracy, this type of ‘ librandµ culture’ is allowed in our democracy.

On his channel he has this split personality when he sometimes transforms to ‘Bhakt’ Banerjee. Bhakt is a slang used to identify nationalist, right-winger or RSS supporter. Bhakt Banerjee is shown in videos as a fumbling idiot, who cares for absolutely nothing but just loves Modi and his government. He is not very educated, which is hinted at by the fact that Akash deliberately mispronounces words in his Bhakt avatar to show Bhakt Banerjee as an idiot. He invites left-liberandµ ‘scholars’ for interviews and asks them stupid questions when he is acting as Bhakt Banerjee. Then suddenly he becomes ‘intellectual’ and ‘bhadralok’ and intellectual questions as Akash Banerjee.

Bhakt Banerjee exemplifies what Akash Banerjee and his librandµ followers think of Modi supporters — mumbling fools or gobarbhakts who know nothing about the nation (whatsapp graduates) but only care for the Hindutva agenda, who have a low IQ and think of Modi as a demi-God, and not PM of the nation. He may think that everyone on the right wing is an idiot and this vanishing tribe of leftist, communist and dimagi naxal librandµ will soon disappear from the political map of India. Thus they have only social media available for them to bark (and earn money). This man supported naxalite Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal and will surely support the newly formed Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). He will also support if a new party is formed Dimagi Naxal Janata Party because he is born naxal.
