Is Suvendu Adhikary really a "traitor" as said by Mamata Banerjee?

Yes, Suvendu Adhikari is a traitor as per ex-CM Mamata Banerjee because he was the senior most TMC leader who defected to rival BJP, more importantly Suvendu Adhikari defeated Mamata Banerjee twice – in Nandigram which is Suvendu’s stronghold area and also in Bhawanipore which used to be stronghold area of Mamata Banerjee. Incidently, Mamata Banerjee also called veteral Bollywood film star Mithun Chakraborty as traitor just because Mithun also moved to BJP sometime back.

After becoming CM in May 2026, Suvendu Adhikari is doing something which was unseen in predominantly communist and naxalite leaning Bengal – revival of Hindu festivals and that is not limited to traditional Bengali Hindu festivals like Durga puja, Kali puja nd Saraswati puja . He is bringing ‘Ram Rajya’ in Bengal – a state where previous CM Mamata Banerjee used to get irritated with religious chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’. For Mamata Banerjee and other lefists, communists and librandµs, this slogan is a war cry by the fascists BJP. The large pool of ‘sickular intellectual bhadraloks’ of Bengal also seeing a cultural change.

The way CM Suvendu Adhikari got involved in Rathyatra Hindu religious event in 2026, clearly Bengal is seeing revival of Hinduism

The sickulars and Islamists may also call CM Suvendu as traitor for not following Mamata Banerjee style secularism but the massive crowd in CM Suvendu’s Rathyatra proved that he is on the right path. Previously, Islamists and jeh@dis used to block large number of reads deliberately as ‘show of strength’ every evening iftar party was on the roads.

During TMC era Hindu sadhu saints were hounded and jeh@dis ran amok on streets of Bengal
