Who will win 2026 West Bengal state assembly election?

Both the top contenders, BJP and Mamata Banerjee’s TMC are trying their best to win the Bengal election 2026 by using all type of tricks. For Mamata Banerjee, this election is ‘do or die’ as she failed miserably in other states like Goa, Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya etc. despite spending huge money.

The Election Commissioner (EC) has replaced may TMC stooges from important positions just before the election. The Governor also changed. The election has been reduced to two-stage with the hope of reducing TMC goon movements and violence and massive deployment of central security forces will reduce TMC malpractices. Also, SIR has eliminated more than 60 lakhs dead or bogus voters, as per EC, which may benefit BJP. But Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee who has not done any economic development over the decade is hoping to win the election with nearly 25% peaceful community voters who will never vote for BJP. She is hoping another 20% votes from Hindus who are on various freebie schemes (like Kanyashree etc.) run by the state. Combining these two segments, she is expected to get 45% votes, enough to win the election.

But Mamata Banerjee is in panic mode due to SIR. She is back to her old tricks of physical assault and injury which creates sympathy wave. She started saying that BJP will attack her physically. It is not clear why she was repeatedly attacked by the CPM goons during the Jyoti Basu years and now by the BJP. Clearly, her only weapon to win the election this time is ‘self-inflicted injury and creation of sympathy wave’. This way she will create a narrative that rival BJP is a party of ‘north Indian’ goons and her ‘Bangladeshi jeh@di goons’ are better for future of Bengal.

CM Mamata Banerjee took oath as CM for 2nd term in 2021 in perfect healthy condition after months on wheelchair campaign and just a day before that she was seen in wheelchair. This way ‘bhadralok intellectual’ people of Bengal has been taken for a ride and the state is becoming an economic disaster.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that the Election Commission of India has "crossed all boundaries of decency and constitutional propriety."In her letter, Banerjee expressed concern over the Commission's actions since the start of the "Special Intensive Revision," claiming that it has acted with apparent bias and ignored ground realities and public welfare.
