Will India's assemble in India one day lead to Make in India? China did the same thing.

After selling millions of mobile smartphones with imported tempered glass for mobiles since 2012, India finally launched a factory in Noida, Delhi NCR to locally make tempered glass. This is an example of ‘Make in India’ but it should have happened long back. The domestic market for tempered glass is estimated at more than 500 million pieces in 2025 with a retail value of approximately Rs 20000 crore, showcasing a large-scale opportunity in the country. The global market is worth over USD 60 billion. Clearly, there is room for more manufacturing in this segment.

Another good news is that PSU BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Ltd) initiated manufacturing of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) as India recently faced delay in supply of these items they purchased from China. China deliberately blocked them at customs clearance along with rare earth minerals, magnets and speciality fertilisers. China is doing all possible tricks to block industrial growth of India.
