In the book 'A Promised Land', ex-USA President Obama writes that Manmohan Singh's rise to the post of Prime Minister is often seen as a symbol of India's victory over caste divisions, but this is not correct. Everyone knows the real story behind Manmohan's becoming the Prime Minister. He was not the party's candidate for the post of Prime Minister. Obama said that this post was given to him by the then Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Many political analysts also believe that she chose the elderly Sikh because he had no national political base and he was not a threat to her 47-year-old son Rahul. Former US President Barack Obama has expressed his opinion about the internal affairs of the Congress in his book. He has written in his book that Sonia Gandhi made Manmohan Singh the Prime Minister because she did not feel any threat from Manmohan Singh. The former President, who came to India in 2010, has also mentioned a dinner organized at the residence of former PM Manmohan Singh in his book. Both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were present at the party. Obama writes, 'Sonia Gandhi was paying more attention to listening than speaking. Apart from this, she used to turn the discussion towards her son.
