What do you think of India’s surgical strikes that took place against terrorists in Pakistan?
On November 1990, five Khalistani terr0rists killed 12 Hindus in Faridkot, Punjab, India. The Hindus were attending an RSS shakha when they were fired upon. This is just one of the incidents out of hundreds of massacre and target killing happened in Punjab since early 1980s.
On 20 March 2000 35 Sikhs were massacred at Chattisingpura village by Kashmiri jeh@di terrorists when USA President Bill Clinton was visiting India. It was a deliberate attempt to instil fear among minorities in Kashmir and also to highlight the Kashmir issue to global and international media. Hundreds of massacres and target killing by Kashmiri terr0rists were carried out from late 1980s when PM Rajiv Gandhi and his close friend Farooq Abdullah jointly rigged a state election and gave a free run to these terr0rists who killed and forced minorities to move out of Kashmir.
On 24 September 2002, two terrorists killed 33 devotees inside Akshardham Temple, Gandhinagar Gujarat. The state CM Narendra Modi actively got involved with security forces in this terror incident. The two terrorists were neutralized. Here is a sample list of terror activities in year 2002. The numbers indicate death casualty and injury in these incidents.
Terr0r incidents in 2002
What is common between Khalistani and Kashmiri terr0rism which lasted for more than four decades (1982-2022)? Cross border arms supply, funding, brainwashing etc. by a rogue state whose foreign policy is export of global terr0rism to weaken Indian economy, destroy family and society etc. This was part of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s famous statement that they will ‘bleed India with 1000 cuts’ after 1971 war defeat. Punjab based terrorism started in 1982 and first major terror act in New Delhi was on 10 May 1985 when a series of transistor bombs exploded killing 49 people and injuring many.
Fast forward to 2023. As a strong leader PM Modi emerged in 2014, things started changing slowly. As Article 370 was abrogated in 2019, Kashmir valley started limping back to normalcy. Another major change observed in 2023. This time in the neighbouring country which only gave pain to India since its formation in 1947.
Paramjit Singh Panjwar of the Khalistan Commando Force was gunned down in Lahore on 6 May 2023. The methodical precision of these attacks – executed by motorcycle-riding gunmen in plain clothes using small arms for quick, targeted killings – is hard to ignore and suggests a pattern that goes beyond mere coincidence. Recently, on 8 September 2023, Mohammed Riyaz alias Abu Qasim of Lashkar-e-Taiba, the mastermind of the Dhangri terror attack, was killed inside a mosque in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir. Each killing bore the hallmarks of a clinical execution that left few, if any, traces behind.
From this list of kills, Zahoor Mistry’s assassination stands out as he had been living under a new identity, Zahid Akhund, as a furniture store owner. But this did not prevent his assassination. On March 1, 2022, he was killed in Karachi by two bike-borne assailants. Within weeks of Mistry’s death, Zafarullah Jamali, Zahoor’s comrade from the IC-814 hijack, was killed in another part of Karachi. Jamail had been preparing to flee to safety but wasn’t quick enough.
On 20 February 2023, Bashir Ahmed of Hizb-ul Mujahideen met the same fate in Rawalpindi, quickly followed by Khalid Raza of Al Badar in Karachi days later. Bashir Ahmad Peer alias Imtiyaz Alam assassination was a message sent to Hafiz Saeed and the message was simple: we can hit you when we really want to. He served as the chief security officer for Hafiz Saeed, leader of the Pakistan-based Islamist group Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), and its military counterpart, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Bashir’s role was pivotal, not just in overseeing the security of Saeed but also in coordinating the movements of a man who had been designated a terrorist by the United Nations and accused by India of orchestrating the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Bashir’s loyalty to Saeed and JuD was deep-rooted, having joined the organization about 25 years before his death. Over the years, he had ascended to the rank of head of security, becoming an integral part of the group’s operations. His assassination on May 19, 2013, sent shockwaves through the Pakistani political and military establishment. Bashir left his home after a mysterious phone call from someone he was close to. On May 19, his body was fished out from a canal marked with signs of torture. Bashir’s killing was left unsolved. Despite a major investigation by Pakistan and accusations made against India, no evidence of who made the crucial phone call or who killed Bashir was ever found. Little has been written about Bashir’s case – or another series of killings in Pakistan. These killings are linked to the infamous hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC-814 on December 24, 1999.
Kandahar highjack was the biggest diplomatic blunder of PM Vajpayee
Now, decades later, those involved are being systematically eliminated by mysterious assassins with a strikingly similar modus operandi. The series of murders began in 2018 with the killing of Mohammad Ismael, an operative for LeT, in the Pakistani side of Kashmir. This assassination set the tone for what appears to be a targeted campaign against those connected with the IC814 hijack.
A close aide of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist organisation’s chief Masood Azhar was killed on 13 November 2023 by the ‘unknown assailants’ in the Orangi town area of Karachi, Pakistan. Maulana Raheem Ullah Tariq was shot dead on while he was reportedly going to attend a religious gathering. Some unidentified men opened fire at him, causing his death on the spot, according to the Pakistani-based news outlets. Police in Pakistan called the incident the ‘targeted killing’ of the terrorist who appears to be Masood’s right hand. The wanted terrorist was referred to as ‘Mauzin’ by the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation, implying an individual who proclaims the call to the daily prayer, reports suggest. He was shot dead while he was on his way to a gathering, the Senior Superintendent of the Police (SSP) reportedly confirmed. The latter stated that at least three bullets were fired by masked perpetrators, killing Ullah Tariq, adding that the incident may be related to the rivalry.
Jaish terr0rist Taj Muhammad was shot dead on 19 November 2023 by unknown people in Pakistan. He was a relative and right-hand man of most wanted Jaish-e-Mohammed terr0rist Abdul Rauf Asghar. Asghar was involved in many terr0rist incidents.
The silence of the global press on these killings, in stark contrast to the outcry on India-Canada diplomatic tiff suggest that the international community is happy with elimination of terr0r operatives from Pakistan. Whole world knows that Pakistan sheltered global terr0rist Osama Bin-Laden and Pakistan is the epicentre of global terr0rism. If USA can eliminate Os@ma and Al-Zawahiri in Af-Pak region, they whey can’t JeM, LeT, Hizbul Mujahideen, Harkat-ul-Ansar, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen etc. be targeted? After IAF Balakot surgical strike, Delhi CM Arvind Kerjwal and some other opposition politicians asked ‘proof’ of militants killed in Pakistan. He is no longer asking for proof now!
The recent elimination of Pakistan based terr0r operatives will reduce global terr0rism and hence group behind this elimination of terr0r deserves ‘Noble Peace’ prize.
