What is the biggest work done by PM Modi for India so far?

Just few days after Delhi-Mumbai Expressway first phase was inaugurated by PM Modi on 12 February 2023, I had a chance to visit Jaipur from Gurugram. Obviously, it is a fantastic expressway and first of its kind in India. User reviews are available on media and social media and if I praise too much about this expressway, librandµs will call me ‘andh bhakt’.

Distance marking is available after every 100 meters from staring point (as seen in pic below) so that one can pin-point his location in case of emergency, most of the rest and recreation facilities are not yet started, solar panel and drip irrigation pipes can be seen on expressway median area, median area trees are just newly planted, most vehicles operating at 100 plus KMPH speed, a rest and recreation facility at 99 KM from Gurugram or Sohna end is serving basic snacks like potato chips and the only operational food joint currently. Only few mini kids play ground and petrol pumps can be seen in rest area and CNG or EV charging facility is not available right now.

PM Modi and transport minister Nitin Gadkari’s promise of Delhi to Jaipur in 2 hours is still far away and will happen only after two spur connectivity is established. Delhi DND to KMP Expressway 59 KM spur is under construction and may take another year. But Bandikui-Jaipur spur which starts from 169 KM towards Jaipur is at early stage of pre-construction and inauguration deadline is not yet clear. Despite this, we took half the time to reach Jaipur than returning back to Gurugram using old highway.

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway phase-1

What is important here is a mind-set change by the current government that world class infrastructure not just provide jobs during construction phases but gives immense boost to economy during operation phase. After few years, revenue generation from these projects is also substantial. So, government is not shying away from big ticket expressways, bullet trains, DFC (dedicated freight corridors), new airports, mega tunnels, sea ports and bridges. These projects are getting constructed with top speed and without much compensation or agitation problem.

When first expressway was built in north-India which was Noida-Agra expressway in 2011-13 by UP CM Mayawati, ruling central government MP Rahul Gandhi tried to block that construction at village Bhatta Parsaul in greater Noida district. He was arrested and that gave him publicity and media coverage. UPA 2.0 (2009-2014) was the period were every big ticket projects were stalled in the name environment protection and land compensation. Some famous NGO’s like Ford Foundations, George Soros’s Open Society Foundation (Soros is again in news for criticizing PM Modi in February 2023), Amnesty International etc. funded agitations like Narmada Bachao Andolan, Koodankulam anti-nuclear agitation in TN. Not just MP Rahul Gandhi but UPA ministers like Jayanti Natarajan and Jayram Ramesh blocked national projects.

Modi government’s strong action against anti-national NGO’s is helping India build world class infrastructure. So, Modi is transforming India infrastructure and at the same time, destroying anti-national NGO’s, librandµ and leftists andolan-jivi class who survive on these western or Chinese funded NGO’s.
