How is Mamata Banerjee portraying herself to the people by wearing a white cotton saree during the rally against SIR in Kolkata?

In Murki village, Kerakat tehsil, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, the village head settled 200 Rohingya and Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators, seizing 26 bighas of government land. All of them are living in temporary plastic huts near a Madrasa indicating the influx is recent. The village head's name is Mohammad Sadiq, and for him, religion comes first, not the country. Therefore, putting national security at stake is nothing new for him. This is happening in every city moholla and states. In Delhi, Okhla based don Amanullah Khan settled thousands of Rohingyas in his area and provided them free food during Arvind Kejriwal era (2015-2015). Fake Aadhar and voter cards are no problem as local politicians, Mosque etc. help them and illegal immigrants have to pay only Rs 4000-5000 for these citizenship documents. Similarly late congressman Baba Siddique settled thousands of illegal immigrants at Bandra, Mumbai in 1980s. National level media never reports these cases for the sake of secularism and...

What is the history of Jagadhatri Puja in West Bengal?

Image
Most Indians know that freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak started Ganesh Chaturthi festival in Bombay (now Mumbai) as a means to awaken cultural and religious soul of Hindus under a regressive colonial era. This became so popular over the years that it awakened the Hindu society in the western part of the country politically and helped people joined freedom struggle. Something similar happened in Bengal couple of centuries earlier in a barbaric Islamic rule. Maharaja (king) Krishnachandra of Krishnanagar (currently district headquarter of Nadia) was the first to introduce Jagaddhatri Puja in Bengal in 1754. According to the popular story, Maharaja Krishnachandra of Nadia was imprisoned for failing to pay royal taxes to the Nawab of Bengal, Alivardi Khan. When he was finally released from the Nawab's prison, the Durga festival was almost over. The king, tired and depressed because he could not attend the puja, fell asleep in a boat. Legend has it that Krishnachandra had a dream in ...

Why are a lot of people suddenly comparing our PM Narendra Modi with Indira Gandhi?

Image
Some people who consider both PM Narendra Modi and ex-PM Indira Gandhi were dictators, try to find similarities between them although they belonged to different party and ideology. But the reality is PM Modi is far from being a dictator in comparison to Indira Gandhi. Indian leftists, communists and librandµ urbam naxals try to create this narrative by comparing these PMs. See the difference when PM Modi takes photograph with Cricket World Cup winning team as compared to Indira Gandhi. PM Modi is not touching the trophy while ex-PM Indira Gandhi was holding the trophy. Modi holding hands of male cricketers but not touching female cricketers Congress and left-Islamist ecosystem is trying its best to project PM Modi as dictator but the reality is that congress leaders staring from Nehru, all ruled the country like a king and damaged the constitution – Article 370, special Muslim specific appeasement laws and fund allocation, Shah Bano Supreme Court judgement, emergency, amending constitu...

What qualities of Narendra Modi separates him from Rahul Gandhi?

PM MOdi is trying to build a gig economy based on information and internet access while RaGa (some call him Pappu and rightly so) criticising cheap internet data charges. That’s the difference. Raga further tried to link cheap data with his pet topic – Adani and Ambani. Pure genius. RaGa cannot appreciate cheap internet data cost in India which is less than China. He cannot appreciate the success of UPI digital payments in India and many other countries because India’s digital payment volume is larger than China. So, he brings Ambani and Adani to deflect the success. Genius. He can only see negative when other see positive. Picture source: Google / Respective rightful owner India tops world ranking in digital payments, beats China by huge margin: Report - Times of India Brazil is second on the list accounting for 29.2 million transactions, followed by China with 17.6 million transactions. Do you agree with the argument that India should abandon dynasty for meritocracy in politics?

Image
Almost everybody in India will agree that meritocracy in politics will work provided politicians themselves follow it, implement policies that promote meritocracy and implement it using corruption free administration and judiciary. This is a tall order for Indian politicians. Those who enjoyed fruits of corruption will try their best to retain the status quo or ‘jungle-raj’. Incompetent politicians drift towards dynasty politics and make vote appeals based emotional issues like caste, language and Gandhi surname etc. PM PV Narasimha Rao tried to get rid of congress dynasty and develop a congress party which has merit and spine without the dynasty in early 1990s. We all know what happened to ex-PM PV Narasimha Rao during UPA era. All smaller parties are also becoming dynastic party as they see power concentration within the family is the best way to protect the family assets acquired by dubious means. Thus political corruption and dynasty politics goes hand in hand. Dynasty politics oft...

What did Rahul Gandhi say about Modi?

Image
During the November 2025 Bihar election campaign, RaGa said that PM Modi will dance for votes. But there is an old saying that ‘if you point finger at other, three fingers points at yourself’. This has been proved again. If Modi dance for votes then why congress leaders dance in public? For entertainment? Congress leader RaGa need to learn by now that attacking PM Modi do not increase congress vote share in any way. His absence in later stage of Bihar election campaign indicate that he was not happy with ticket distribution among the INDI Alliance partners. It appears that congress will fail miserably (again) in Bihar 2025 election. Then they will blame EVM, SIR and vote chori! Picture source: Google / Respective rightful owner ‘If you tell Modi to dance...’: Rahul Gandhi opens Bihar campaign with attack on PM; brings back ‘vote chori’ barb | India News - The Times of India India News: Rahul Gandhi launched his Bihar election campaign, accusing PM Modi of seeking votes and undermining ...

Though Aral Bihari Vajpayee was an able and appreciated administrator, did he commit any mistakes when he was the Prime Minister of India?

During 1999 Kargil war, two IAF Mig fighter jets accidentally entered PoK air space despite Indian government policy was that they will not cross the border. Both the planes were shot down, one fighter pilot died and Flight Lieutenant K Nachiketa became hostage in the enemy country. After a prolong diplomatic effort by the Vajpayee government, K Nachiketa came back to India and the hostage crisis ended. His family maintained a dignified calm and stayed away from the media as military families learn the art of disciplined living. Unfortunately, this was not the case with Kandahar IC 814 plane hijacking and hostage crisis which lasted 8 days. The IC 814 plane finally landed in hostile Taliban ruled Afghanistan city of Kandahar and Indian security team started negotiating with the 5 hijackers. The Plane was completely surrounded by Taliban fighters. Barkha Dutt reported extensively on the 1999 Kargil conflict and covered the IC 814 Kandahar hijack as a prominent journalist of NDTV at the ...
