Will the clean-up of electoral rolls before the elections in West Bengal cause panic to voters, stress to booth-level workers, and fears of disenfranchisement to migrants?

The clean-up of electoral rolls in Bengal before the 2026 assembly will give heartburn and frustration to many. But most importantly, it will drastically reduce fake voting often called ‘scientific voting’ during the communist dictator Jyoti Basu era. Mass state level malpractices started from 1971 during congress CM Siddhartha Shankar Ray, reached alarming level and Mamata Banerjee’s TMC goons continued the same because most were communist turncoats who joined TMC afer their win in 2011. No other Indian state institutionalised electoral malpractices like Bengal did. All this to this electoral malpractices is massive pre and post election violence, death and r@pe threats, exodus of voters to other places or even other states temporarily to avoid violence.
