Is Rahul Gandhi being criticized for sake of criticizing?
Congress leader RaGa raised the issue of the US sinking an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean, as it was returning after participating in a joint exercise MILAN 2026 with the Indian Navy, and charged that while at moments such as these India needs a steady hand at the wheel, it has a compromised PM who has surrendered our strategic autonomy. He said, ‘the world has entered a volatile phase and stormy seas lie ahead. India’s oil supplies are under threat, with more than 40% of our imports transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The situation is even worse for LPG and LNG. The conflict has reached our backyard, with an Iranian warship sunk in the Indian Ocean’.
As soon as RaGa’s post on social media X went viral, all leftists, communists, urban naxals and librandµ congress supports started attacking Indian government with a narrative that ‘India’s guest ship has been sunk violating international protocols’. Clearly, it was an attempt to blame India and damage India’s reputation when there is no fault with India’s neutral diplomatic stand on Iran-USA/Israel war that started in March 2026. Three Iranian war ships came to India’s Vizag port call for the MILAN 2026 naval exercise and they left 5 days back. They were at Sri Lanka’s EEZ some 40 km south of Galle when USA submarine sunk one of Iranian ship IRIS Dena using torpedo. The sinking ship sent distress call and Indian Navy made preparation to rescue them. Indian Navy deployed a long-range maritime patrol aircraft to speed up search efforts that had already been started by Sri Lanka. Another aircraft with air-droppable life rafts was also kept on standby.
Sri Lankan Navy rescued around 30 Iranian sailors and also recovered around 80 dead bodies. Some sailors are still missing. Another Iranian war ship is outside Sri Lankan (SL) EEZ and asking permission to enter SL EEZ. The other two Iranian ship are vulnerable to USA attack as war is going on. Indian cannot be blamed for this incident in Indian Ocean in any manner.
Congress is back with its dirty game to defame India. Curing Covid-19 pandemic, RaGa and many other INDI alliance leaders like Akhilesh Yadav and Mamata Banerjee refused to take Covid vaccine mocked them as ‘Modi’ vaccine. They did this considering one particular vote bank community who are hostile to vaccines. During Doklam border standoff in 2017, RaGa secretly went to Chinese embassy to understand the ground reality at border instead to getting this information from Indian officials and ministries. During Galwan 2020 crisis, RaGa mocked PM Modi can’t even hold a gun. RaGa and congress ecosystem created a negative narrative that China occupied 1000 km of Indian territory when PM Modi clearly stated that there was no loss of territory. After a prolong negotiations, the Chinese vacated many ‘no-man’s land’ patrolling points and Indian Army/ITBP now patrolling all the points as they were doing before 2020. RaGa questioned how many Rafale jet crashed during Operation Sindoor conflict in May 2025 which again demoralised Indian armed forces. RaGa called Indian PM ‘surrender Modi’ and blamed Indian stopped Operation Sindoor under Trump threat while India’s official position was Pakistani DGMO requested to halt the hostility after a barrage of BrahMos missile hits and India agreed as their objective to punish the cross border terr0r modules was achieved. RaGa also mocked PM Modi as ‘surrender Modi’ when USA initiated steep hike on H1B visa fees which was not India specific and imposed high trade tariff.
Clearly, RaGa is irresponsible leader of opposition. He should learn from Israeli opposition leaders who never target their own leader during a crisis. RaGa is the most immature congress leader and hence congress is declining fast. RaGa is running congress party as foreign funded NGO instead of a political party. Many people says RaGa is BJP’s biggest asset.
Meanwhile, India got 30 day waiver from USA to buy Russian (cheap) oil as the main oil supply passage in the Gulf area remained blocked. Indian vessels also got safe passage from the Iranian government. Both should be considered as a diplomatic victory for India.
