Why is the Shah Bano case so important?

PM Rajiv Gandhi won 400+ seats in 1984 general election due to Indira Gandhi assassination linked sympathy wave. Since then, congress has never won a majority on its own. This is because they sacrificed principles of democracy, gender justice and secularism for political gain called Muslim appeasement. This appeasement policy started by PM Jawaharlal Nehru immediately after independence when there was no challenger to leadership of Nehru and congress party. Also Muslim population percent was low compared to now. Still entire Nehru-Gandhi dynasts followed Muslim appeasement policy, pro-Arab and Pakistan policy, pro-Palestine policy. All these indicate that congress has always been a Muslim focused party and taken majority Hindu population from grated.

For decades, there was no alternative for congress but rise of rival BJP in 1990s is partly linked to disastrous Shah Bano Supreme Court judgement reversal by Rajiv Gandhi government using the back door. To appease Islamist or jeh@di religious hardliners, the PM Rajiv Gandhi-led Congress government passed the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Divorce) Act, 1986, hich overturned the Supreme Court judgment. This law restricted a husband’s financial obligation to the three-month iddat period post-divorce. This pattern only follows Nehru’s principle that Muslims are not yet ready for ‘Uniform Civil Code’ and hence need separate education board or systems, minority institutes which will take grants from the government but will be autonomous so that different rules and parameters can be applied, separate marriage, divorce and polygamy laws etc. This way all successive congress governments created a pampered and lawless community who refuse to accept Indian constitution. They threaten that they are only loyal to the Sharia laws. They need and managed to get Haj subsidy, state supported iftar party, prayer room in Parliament, airport and other public places since Nehru days.

Now decades after Shah Bano judgement controversy, a Bollywood movie is going to be released soon. Indian leftists, communists and urban naxal librandµs will again claim that this is also a propaganda movie. They earlier claimed ‘The Kashmir Files’ (2022), ‘The Kerala Story’ (2023), ‘Article 370’ (2024), ‘Chhaava’ (2025), ‘The Bengal Files’ (2025) etc. are all propaganda films with political agenda. Some leftist states like Bengal, Kerala and TN either prevented screening of these movies or threaten film distributors not to release in these states. The same librandµs will advise others that films should not be banned and one can simply avoid watching certain movies if they don’t like the plot.

Now another movie is coming which will expose congress appeasement policy and this time they cannot call it ‘fake’ story. The whole story is recorded in the Supreme Court archives. It is on record that PM Rajiv Gandhi even asked old hapless divorced lady Shah Bano not to take alimony.

Shah Bano’s son claims PM Rajiv Gandhi suggested her divorced mother not to take alimony

Haq and Article 370 are nationalist films and not propaganda films

Librandµs should be ready to see more films like Chhaava in future

Shah Bano case is important because Muslim appeasement policy led to congress party reach the gutter. After 1984, congress failed to get absolute majority at centre, regional parties to control of various states and BJP emerged at national level rival of congress. The same Muslim appeasement mistake was done by TMC, SP and RJD. They will also suffer.
