What do you make of the Trinamool Congress' claim that West Bengal and Bihar are not the same, and that Mamata Banerjee will return to power for the fourth time in 2026?

Bihar and Bengal state are not the same is partially correct and it will be a big challenge for the BJP to win Bengal assembly in 2026. A Bihar assembly 2025 type sweep is simple not possible because of multiple reasons. There is no Nitish Kumar in Bengal, no strong presence of RSS at the grass root level in Bengal, no strong Bengali BJP leader in Bengal most BJP leaders were TMC turncoats. Also caste factors do not work in Bengal as they work in Bihar. Muslim population is more in Bengal than Bihar who never vote for BJP. All these things make BJP’s job difficult, if not impossible in 2026.

Mamata Banerjee know how to play emotional card ‘Bengali identity card’ to defame ‘north Indian’ BJP. Without doing economic development, she can still win the Bengal election on Bengali sub-nationalism and regional cultural autonomy to appease the ‘intellectually superior’ leftist leaning Bengali Hindu majority voters.

But the SIR and the Bihar election sweep for the BJP is giving nightmares to the TMC Hindu leaders. Their noise level in the states, in New Delhi and inside the Parliament has softened. They perhaps can feel the end game is near as more than 30 lakhs Aadhar card has been disabled. These people may be illegal immigrants, fake, deceased or migrated and the final figure of suspended Aadhar or voter card cases may be much more than what was seen in Bihar. This is a cause of worry for TMC and their goons. They perfected the art of ‘scientific rigging’ which was started in 1970s under the communist regime. Using goon and muscle power, rival opposition voters were identified before the election and they were driven away from their home to nearby jungles or elsewhere so that they can never vote. Then communist agents or goons used to do proxy voting and the state police was always with the communist government. Over the years, introduction of electronic voting machines in mid-1990s and deployment of central forces in 2010s, made mass rigging difficult. But the trend continued and hence Bengal always have highest election related violence even today.

CM Mamata Banerjee since her earlier congress days is known as ‘street fighter’ and dharna-jivi. She is ruthless against anybody who do not agree with her. Mamata Banerjee is displaying the Constitution instead of abusing and threatening the rival BJP leaders is itself an indication that winds of change is blowing in Bengal. BJP may win or lose Bengal 2026 assembly election with narrow margin but clearly the game is now on. This time there will be real ‘khela hobe’ in Bengal. Mamata Banerjee displaying the Constitution reminds us that for last few years, especially after 2024 general election defeat, the congress dynasts are only displaying the Constitution to target the BJP. The congress dynasts tried temple run to gain vote but failed miserably. Then they started ‘yatras’ across the country and election states. That also failed. Now they are displaying the Constitution as desperate effort.

CM Mamata Banerjee has also reached that desperation level. Local TMC leader had much more ground report than the media or social media that lakhs of illegal Rohingya or Bangladeshi people who over stayed in India or staying illegally are making a quick exit. Lakhs of illegal immigrants who paid money to local TMC leader to make fake Aadhar and voter cards are also in risk of losing voting right and if caught, will have to stay in detention centre jails. This is because SIR process initiated by the EC will verify family tree with past valid voters and any discrepancy will be identified and corrected. Bengal may have 1.5 illegal immigrants (or more) as stated by BJP leader Dilip Ghosh and a clean-up is imminent because PM Modi and HM Amit Shah are serious this time.
