Why does media give so much publicity to what Rahul Gandhi said or did when he can't even talk about anything on his own without help from his speech writers?
Rahul Gandhi visited the USA in June 2023. His director had planned a truck yatra like Rahul Gandhi had done recently in India during Karnataka state election. He was also seen riding a scooty. These are all publicity stunt to show he is trying to understand common man’s problems. His team did the same in USA and claimed that he has travelled with a normal truck driver. But the dark side of this yatra is that he was not a normal truck driver.
The driver's name was Taljinder Singh Vicky Gill. He is the President of the Indian overseas youth congress America. But he is not a common truck driver by profession and acted as a truck drive . It was a pre-planned PR event and scripted publicity show.for the occation just like Rahul Gandhi before every election starts temple run and critics call him ‘chunavi Hindu’.
Then he visited a bike repair shop and tried his hand to fix a bike. It is not clear if he could fix the bike or if he learned any new skill but it is clear that he got publicity across the country. These kind of publicity stunts make Arvind Kejriwal hog media limelight in 2012-13 he subsequently formed AAP political party. Unemployed Rahul Gandhi trying the same publicity tricks and he started 150 days Bharat Jodo Yatra in 2022.
After bike show in Delhi, he visited violence hit Manipur and said he wish to meet people who died in riots!! Does this make sense? He could not go to Hindu Meitei dominated Imphal valley by road as he was shown ‘Rahul Gandhi go back’ placard. He took chopper to visit Chandel and Chandrachurpur district which is Chrisitian Kuki dominated.
After Manipur’s visit, Rahul Gandhi came to Telengana which goes to poll soon. Here he made a comedy show. Launching a scathing attack on the Telangana CM KCR, Rahul Gandhi said his remote control was with PM Modi. He described the state's ruling party as BJP's B-Team and 'BRS' stood for ‘BJP Rishtedar Samithi’. He also said BRS is only in air while congress is firmly on ground. Both the statement contradicts and shows his level of maturity. The statement also means congress will not tie-up with BRS for 2024 general election.
Rahul Gandhi refuses to mature. He became Amethi MP in 2004. It has been nearly two decades that he is in public life but his achievements are zero. His presence in parliament was low, his questions as MP during UPA and NDA era was also low, his achievement as MP of Amethi is also poor. His achievement in new Wayanad constituency is also poor. But congress is always hopeful about him. Whatever he does – riding scooty, travelling in a truck in USA, fixing a bike, hugging people in Manipur relief came etc. are political statements for publicity and cheered by congress supporters.
How congress mishandled Indian economy over five decades and focused on personality cult and dynasty can be seen by visiting Rai Barelli and Amethi which completely lack development. Congress lost Amethi last time and may lose Rai Bareli too in 2024. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi immaturity in communication is not going to help them either.
Rahul Gandhi’s last trump card is stage managed publicity show highlighted by congress IT cell like instances mentioned here. Rahul Gandhi will do this publicity stunts regularly till 2024 election.
