At the SCO meeting, why did Putin allow only Modiji and no other leader to take a ride in his limousine?

As India faced 50% trade tariff from USA, Russia has offered more oil discount to India after the SCO 2025 Summit and President Putin informed PM Modi about his Alaska meet with USA President Trump. This is called true friend who comes for the rescue at the time of crisis. Putin needed a photo-ops event like SCO 2025 Summit to tell western countries that India will take their independent decisions and Russia has friends outside western block. Hence these bonhomie pictures between Modi and Putin can be seen there.

Soviet Union was once a superpower. That Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991 and Russia became successor state. Russia’s economic and diplomatic power no longer matches with current sole superpower USA. Hence Russia always wanted to create RIC (Russia India China) block to take on USA. Russian Foreign minister Sergey Lavrov talked about RIC prospect many times.

The biggest obstacle of RIC block is India’s complex relationship with Ch!na. It must have been an extremely difficult decision by PM Modi to visit Ch!na for SCO 2025 Summit as Chinese leader skipped G20 2023 Summit. It was Modi’s first visit to Ch!na after the blood Galwan border clash of 2020 and this was only because of USA President Donald Trump’s 50% tariff pressure on India.

President Putin wanted to use SCO 2025 Summit to convey his friendship with PM Modi and other SCO leaders and he succeeded on that. This has only irked USA President Donal Trump further. Putin succeeded in his objectives to attend SCO meet.

But India’s national interest lies elsewhere. India has a complex relationship with Ch!na since 1950s. After the Galwan border clash and subsequent blacklisting of Ch!nese mobile apps, many Ch!nese ‘experts’ suggested that India should be expelled from Chi!na led SCO.

India didn’t gained anything much by attending SCO 2025 summit except few good worlds from Ch!nese leadership and an anti-terr0rism resolution with specific to Pahelgam terr0r attack in India which led to a brief 4 days areal battle between India and Pakistan.
