How much do you trust Arvind Kejriwal?
Arvind Kejriwal was considered as anti-corruption crusader and he succeeded in reducing corruption in Delhi.
In May 2015, just three months after forming government in Delhi with massive mandate of 67 MLA out of 70, CM Arvind Kejriwal acted on his promise to clear corruption from the public life. All across Delhi, signboards came up at bus stand and other places that 35 corrupt officials have been arrested (without giving further details).
Opposition BJP countered it as ‘fake propaganda’. If those arrests in early 2015 were genuine or not is not the question now after 9 years. The main point is Kejriwal kept his promise and sent 16 of corrupt AAP leaders to jail including himself!
AAP MLA Naresh Balyan was jailed for extortion and abetting mental torture leading to suicide of water tanker fleet operator
AAP’s anti-corruption helpline launched with much fanfare but discontinued soon
17 AAP leaders landed in jail till now
Kejriwal was picked up from his house after he skipped 8-9 ED summons
AAP top leadership proved by example that they can clean-up the system
Some diehard AAP fans will say, ‘AAP leaders were arrested by ED/CBI which is controlled by the BJP government as part of political vendetta’. If this is the case, then why large number of congress leaders from Delhi not arrested?
Lower level AAP leaders were jailed for proven crimes like fake academic degree, domestic violence, rioting and violence with police, bribe caught red-handed etc. This proved what BJP has been saying since AAP was formed in 2012 that AAP is just bunch of andolan-jivi, naxalites and part of left ecosystem. They have nothing to offer to Indian society than freebies on water, electricity, bus fare etc. It seems Kejriwal will ensure that at least 35 members of AAP members will end up in jail soon as he initially promised. BJP leader and ex-AAP Kapil Mishra has said that all AAP leaders will go to jail as they are basically criminals.
Arvind Kejriwal has indeed cleaned up corruption from public life but not the way people expected from him. He can be trusted and 35 AAP leaders will go to jail.
