What is your review of the Fabindia 'Jashn-e-Riwaaz' Diwali ad?

On 9th October 2021, Fabindia advertised their Diwali collection by the name ‘Jashn-e-Riwaaz’ which has been featured by Vogue. The brand tweeted, “As we welcome the festival of love and light, Jashn-e-Riwaaz by Fabindia is a collection that beautifully pays homage to Indian culture.”

The tweet was promptly removed by Fabindia after #BoycottFabIndia started trending on Twitter furiously. Other than that, tweets by several people prompted the clothing brand to take down the tweet quickly. The reason for this controversy is ‘Talibanism of Hindu festivals’ and this is not the first or last ad like this.

Tanishq made an ad where a Mu$lim family celebrates a baby shower for their Hindu bride. It's depicted in the ad that they celebrated a Hindu style function, against their usual ritual to make her happy.

#BoycottTanisq started trending on twitter. Those who opposed the ad, said, it promotes 'love-jihad' because the same pattern of Hindu girl - Mu$lim man and must be opposed. Ad got several dislikes and it eventually got pulled down by Tanishq. Those who liked the ad, said it's beautiful, symbol of Indian secularism (or sickularism) and there should be no problem with this.

Surf Excel ad also faced similar backlash and had to be withdrawn. The ad depicted a Mu$lim guy with skull cap applying Holi colors to a Hindu girl. Those who opposed the ad, said, it promotes 'love-jihad' and why this cannot be the other way round i.e., a Hindu boy applying Holi colors to a burkha clad Mu$lim girl?

Not just brands but influencers, ad agency and celebrities must face economic costs for such deliberate misadventures

Then came the Ceat tyre ad which said ‘roads are not meant for Diwali crackers. Why doesn't Aamir Khan and Ceat Tyres shoots another Ad, and tell "Road Ghadi chalane ke liye hai, Namaz padne ke liye nahi". They will not do that because some powerful influencers are paid by jeh@di handlers of middle east to demean Hindu culture and traditions. To protest these type of regular ads targeting Hindus, a vigilant citizen written a letter to Mr. Goenka of Ceat Tyre to repeat the ad with not to do road blocks for doing Namaz message. This problem is becoming acute in Gurugram and a BJP MP written a letter to Ceat Tyre MD Mr Goenka. MP asked the company to also address the ‘problem of blocking roads in the name of Namaz and noise emitted from mosques during Azan.’ But the problem will not go away.

The root cause of this problem is powerful influencers like TV or media establishment, social media influencers, sports people, comedians, advertising agency, radio jockeys, B & C grade failed Bollywood film actors will regularly tweet, post, anti-Hindu comments during Dussehra-Diwali season because they get paid by jeh@di forces to promote their anti-Hindu propaganda.

To

The Chairman/ Managing Director

CEAT Tyres.

Sir,

Your recent advertisement in which Amir Khan advising people not to fire crackers in the streets is giving a very good message. Your concern to public issues need applause. In this regard, we request you to address one more problem faced by people on roads, i. e., blocking roads in the name of Namaz on Fridays and other important festive days by Muslims. It is a very common scene in many Indian cities where Muslims block busy roads and perform Namaz. At that time, vehicles like ambulances and fire engines are also struck in traffic causing great inconvenience to people.

We also request you to highlight the issue of noise pollution in your ads. Every day, loud noise is emitted from mikes arranged on the top of mosques in our country when Azan is given. That sound is beyond the permissible limits. On Fridays, it is prolonged for some more time. It is causing great inconvenience to people suffering from different ailments and taking rest, people working in different establishments and teachers teaching in classrooms. Actually, this list of sufferers is very long and only a few are mentioned here.

Kindly make an ad with the same actor who worked for your Deepavali ad requesting people not to block roads for doing Namaz and not to use loud speakers on mosques. As you are very keen and sensitive towards the problems faced by the general public, we earnestly request you to educate people of our country in these two issues just like you did with Deepavali.

Thanking you sir

Regards,

A vigilant citizen

Meanwhile, no solution to this road block on fridays.
