India was importing British origin Navy ships since Nehru era . Subsequently Navy ship manufacturing shifted to Soviet Union (USSR) as India developed special friendship with them. There was a norm that whenever a new Navy ship came to India, it was kept out of bound from Navy officers and sailors for months because foreign players may deploy malware or spyware in Indian Navy ships. Only after comprehensive quality and safety audits, it was handed over to the Indian Navy. There was another problem with imported Indian Navy ships – cost. Often shipbuilding faces cost overruns due to local factors and Indian govt had to shell out more money. An agreement inked in January 2004 between India and Russia had earmarked only $974 million for aircraft carrier Vkramaditya but final price was $2.33 billion and few years delay in delivery (original delivery date was 2009 but actual delivery was in 2013). During trial run one of its engine failed out of eight, leading to rework and delay. Despite ...

What is wrong with the Mumbai Suburban Railway system?

In 1980s and 1990s, Delhi public transport was totally dependent on state govt owned DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation). Since India is heavily populated country and thousands of people come to big cities for job every day, DTC buses remained overcrowded with people travelling on footboards and hanging from bus doors. Based on this, DTC also implemented automatic door close stem in buses. Now DTC bus footboard fatalities has reduced considerably. But Mumbai had a well-developed British era railway suburban rail system which is fast, efficient and cheap. This system was in good condition till 1970s but later population pressure made this efficient railways system ‘hell’. Excessive overcrowding became ...

National Capital Region Delhi is dependent on drinking water supply from UP & Haryana and interstate water sharing arrangements are settled through institutional mechanisms created by Ministry of Jal Shakti, Govt of India. States are bound to release water to Delhi during critical summer months as per agreements signed under this framework and broadly doing so. In 2025, there is BJP government in Delhi while UP and Haryana are also ruled by BJP. There was no water crisis observed during May-June 2025 summer months. Just recollect a year back, dharna-jivi, andolan-jivi, nautanki-jivi naxalite Delhi AAP leaders were doing dharna in June 2024 and blaming Haryana for not providing water. Ex-CM Kejriwal even blamed Haryana govt for poisoning Yamuna waters! AAP is just a bunch of urban naxals who are only good at dharna. They have no ability to solve any problem. Water shortage created tanker mafia and other corruption and AAP politicians milked money while Delhi Jal Board ended up with ...

Indian PM Modi attended G7 Summit 2025 in Canada. While Indian opposition parties created a fake narrative that PM Modi was not invited by the new Canadian leadership which indicate the relations are yet to improve after ex-PM Justin Trudeau’s pro-Khalistani agenda. The reality proved to be different as PM Modi attended the 2025 G7 Summit under the shadow of Iran-Israel war. This could be a new beginning of restoration of trust between Canada and India and thus considered a positive development. India’s firm stand against Kahlistani anarchy, agitations and nuisance in Canada and other western countries proved that India under Modi government will not compromise on national security red line. Thus no major Khalistani agitations were seen when PM Modi visited Canada in June 2025. On the way to return to India, PM Modi had a brief stopover at Croatia Republic in Europe. PM Modi was greeted at the with the melodious and powerful chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, a sacred Vedic hymn that hold...
