What is wrong with the Congress’ party?

The biggest flaw with congress is that it became dynastic party since 1930s and failed to reward merit. Everything revolves around the Gandhi-Nehru dynasty.

A 94-year-old man is being kicked out by his landlord for not paying his rent on time. The old man has only a torn mat, an old sheet, an aluminum plate, a cup, a plastic bucket and a mug. The old man begged the landlord for a few more days. Finally, the landlord relented at the request of the neighbours. He was given another fifteen days.

A young journalist noticed the matter while passing by. Thinking that he had to report on the matter, the journalist took some pictures of the old man and the house. He decided in his mind that the news could be headlined. The headline would be – “A helpless old man was thrown out of his house for money – A landlord with a hard heart.”The journalist went to the office and told the editor about the incident. The editor was surprised to see the pictures. The editor asked the journalist – “Do you know this old man?” The answer was “No.” The next morning, the newspaper published with a picture – “The former Prime Minister of India is living a life of helplessness.”

He was indeed helpless. He had no other source of income. At the request of his friends, he had accepted the government allowance somewhat reluctantly. But, he did not receive it on time either. Since the allowance had not come for two months, the rent remained unpaid. He had not eaten properly for a few days, and due to lack of money, he had stopped taking medicine.

The news reached the then Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao. A large convoy of ministers, politicians, and bureaucrats had arrived at that rented house. The landlord was surprised! He could not understand anything. Later, he came to know that this man was a freedom fighter, the former Prime Minister of the country! He immediately apologized with folded hands.

The old man was silent. He said, "That's right, you are not at fault. You did what you should have done." A freedom fighter, a Bharat Ratna, and above all, the Prime Minister of independent India. And that too not once, but twice. The landlord had pushed this man out of his old age. He was a freedom fighter, the government wanted to give him a monthly allowance of Rs 500. But, he politely refused. He clearly stated, "I cannot sell myself for money, I sacrificed myself for the country." The old man was offered government housing and various government facilities. He said, "I have a few more days left. Let's not spend my life like this!"

The man who was a two-time Prime Minister, Union Home Minister, and held various important portfolios in the Union Cabinet spent his last days like this. The congress first family abandoned him. When he left, he left behind a torn mat, old sheets, dishes, a bucket, and a cracked mug. This great man was honored with the Bharat Ratna Award in 1997, not during Nehru, Indira and Rajiv Gandhi government era. Similarly, many great leaders were given Bharat Ratna award after Nehru, Indira and Rajiv Gandhi government era, for example Sardar Patel, BR Ambedkar etc.

The definition of politics has changed today, earlier it was service to the people, service to the country, Nehru-Gandhi dynasty turned now it is a professional sycophancy! But, in our country, there were many leaders and ministers who had poverty and deprivation as their constant companions until the last day of their lives. They thought about the country and the people of the country their entire lives. They did not have time to think about themselves. In fact, education had a price, honesty had a price, showing off and the luxury of showing off was still there, but that was not the goal of the youth. The right leader creates the right society.

The old gentleman we are discussing today was a two-time Prime Minister of the country, a one-time Home Minister, and above all, a PhD in Economics from Allahabad University and a Professor of Economics at Bombay Central College in British India. And of course, a man who fought directly from the front in the country's freedom struggle. He was born on July 4, 1898 in the Punjab province of undivided India (now Pakistan) and died on January 15, 1998 at the age of 99. The name of this great man was Gulzarilal Nanda....
