Why does the Waqf Board have nearly 9.4 lakh acres of land in various places?

Image
In this week (last week of October 2024), Waqf Board claimed 40 acres of land around the Kanifnath temple in Ahmednagar (Ahilyanagar) in Maharashtra. Waqf Borad also claimed 750 acres of land in outskirts of Hyderabad, Telengana. Waqf Board also claimed 1200 acres of land in Vijayapura district, Karnataka. The important thing to be noted here is congress is in Govt in Telengana and Karnataka. Powerful congressmen are controlling the state Waqf Baord and Waqf ministry. Karnataka opposition leader Vijayendra speaking to reporters, hit out at the ruling congress for the proposed land grab. ‘Farmers' ancestral land was all of a sudden claimed as Waqf property, farmers will come on the streets, what should they do? The congress is indulging in appeasing minorities and thereby dividing the country in the name of the religion, they have been doing it for long. They are trying to incite riots in the state under the leadership of Zameer Ahemed Khan (Waqf Minister)’, he said. Vijeyendra clai...

Why do Indians seem to have such a polarized opinion regarding Jawaharlal Nehru?

Image
This is the latest news from RBI (Reserve Bank of India)… India’s RBI brought back similar quantity of Gold in May 2024 also RBI is bringing back its gold reserve from foreign banks as a learning from Ukraine-Russia war. West blocked Russia’s foreign currency reserve due to the war. Modi Govt is rectifying the blunders made by Nehruvian economic model of ‘Hindu rate growth’ . The story was from the year 1991. A chartered plane was standing at Mumbai airport. The Indian government and RBI officials kept gold in this plane. The transfer of gold from RBI office to airport happened at mid-night. The vehicle which was used to transport the gold had faced flat tire (puncture) problem during the journey which gave an anxious moment to the RBI officials. The plane flew to England carrying this gold and in return the Indian government got IMF bailout. What was the reason for the depletion of India’s foreign currency reserve that led to only few days of import possible? People hail then Fin...

Did PM Modi and Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez hold a roadshow in Vadodara ahead of the Tata-Airbus aircraft plant inauguration?

Image
PM Modi and Spanish PM are on a road show in Vadodara, Gujarat on 28 October 2024. They were on the way to go to Tata – Airbus JV facility inauguration. Some people may say, what is so great about this? It is after 75 years of independence that India is manufacturing state of the art military transport planes under JV. There is technology transfer, skill development, ancillary industry development for components, increase localise components over the years which will also reduce cost, export potential etc. The current contract is for 40 C-295 Airbus jets (additional 16 direct import) but this can increase as IAF itself plan to retire Ukraine origin AN-32 transport planes. Most importantly, Modi has modified military transport plane manufacturing segment by bringing in private sector which is supposed to be more efficient than ‘sarkari’ PSU HAL. Is income inequality rising in Modi’s India?

Image
It is true that the rich are getting richer! The sale of posh houses has increased by more than twice within 2 years. The sale of houses worth 1 crore rupees and above has risen by 125%. But this is an extremely small percent of the whole population. These rich or super rich people are also going abroad more as they get more opportunity and some of them are surrendering Indian citizenship. Now let’s look at the bulk of the population who are segmented into lower middle class and poor. There has been a cumulative 74.2% decline in income disparity coverage for those earning upto Rs 5 lakh annually between fiscal years 2013-14 and 2022-23, as per a State Bank of India (SBI) report. To paraphrase the ‘often myth of worsening inequality’ in India, the research report from the Economic Department of SBI has analysed the income disparity curves of assessment years (AY) 2014-15/FY14 and AY24/FY23. A comparison of disparity in income during AY15 and AY24 shows that there is a clear rightward sh...

What is not taught to us in history books about Indian war of Independence?

Image
One big thing not taught in Indian history books that two senior most congress leaders and freedom fighters – Jawaharlal Nehru and Subhash Chandra Bose were different when it comes to religion and Hinduism. Subhash Chandra Bose was deeply religious while Nehru was an atheist. Nehru himself admitted that ‘he is Hindu only by birth’. Subhash Chandra Bose was deeply religious. So, he can never be branded as communist in its true sense or pro-communist as some leftist politician parties in Bengal under CPIM Jyoti Basu tried to project. These parties like Foreword Block and RSP promoted propaganda for political gain that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose wanted a communist style rule post-independence. Bengali sub-nationalism has always been a prominent political topic in Bengal and communists like Jyoti Basu promoted this propaganda instead of doing real economic development. Similarly, he was not fascist and took help from Germany and Japan during WW-II just to overthrow British. Netaji Subhash...
