What is the economic growth in India 2022-2023?

Morgan Stanley, in its latest report, hailed the PM Narendra Modi led Indian government and said that in a short span of 10 years, India has gained positions in the world order with significant positive consequences for the macro and market outlook. A lot has changed in the last decade and ‘India will be in the top 3 by 2027’ in terms of absolute GDP. India was 10th nominal GDP in 2014.

The latest news is India clocked 7.2% GDP growth in 2022-23 is 7.2% in a gloomy global economy scenario due to Covid-19 pandemic and Ukraine war which is still going on. India’s GDP growth is much higher than any G-20 countries. China which was driving global economy in the decade 2000s (200-2010) is clocking much less growth than India. Germany, another power house is in recession.

According to World Economic Forum (WEF) President Borge Brende, India is expected to clock the highest growth among the world's big economies this year and the country's economy is witnessing the "famous snowball effect" that will lead to more investments and more jobs. "There have been reforms that have led to less red tape, better climate for investments and also the digital revolution is really happening in India. Strong services exports, rising remittances and the weakening of commodity prices likely pushed India's current account balance to surplus in the quarter that ended March 2023.

The opposition parties in India are on a daily basis blaming PM Modi and his BJP party. This proves foresight of a 2nd century Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius who said two millennium ago that a good leadership will be harassed by his opponents regularly.

Rahul Gandhi in USA visit to abuse India mission and get himself trolled

Rahul said what is happening to Muslims in India today, happened to dalits in the 1980s without realizing it was his father and grandmother who was PM in 1980s. He was speaking in an event organized by Muslim entity. He also mocked Hindu traditions followed by PM Modi while indurating the new Parliament building saying he doesn’t do ‘non-sense’ things. The source of Islamic funding is the main reason congress moved closer to Abrahamic religion and dumped majority Hindu population. His strategy is to divide Hindu population on caste lines and temple run during election.

GDP grows at 7.2% in 2022-23, beats govt’s projection
The Indian economy grew by 7.2 per cent in the financial year ended March 2023, which is 20 basis points higher than government’s estimate, but sharply lower when compared to 9.1 per cent growth registered in 2021-22. Reversing the downward trend, the gross domestic product (GDP) expanded by 6.1 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2022-23, helped by an uptick in manufacturing activities. In the second advance estimate released in February, the National Statistical Office (NSO) had pegged January-March quarter growth at 5.1 per cent.
